Nicholas Fern

Nicholas is a freelance journalist who was diagnosed with autism, anxiety disorder and OCD at the age of fourteen. Heavily bullied in school, he started tech blogging as a creative release and, from a young age, decided he wanted to be a tech journalist. It’s a dream he managed to achieve, and today, he writes for the likes of Forbes, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, Computer Weekly, and many other outlets


While autism poses many daily challenges for Nicholas, be believes that, with the proper support and understanding from those around you, it can be a source of real strength for him personally, and the publications he writes for


Laura James

Laura is the author of the best-selling book, Odd Girl Out, detailing  her experience of being identified as autistic in her 40s. Laura is a highly experienced speaker and  an ambassador for the National Autistic Society. She has spoken at conferences, been interviewed for the BBC and spoken at book festivals. A journalist who has written for all the national newspapers, she was one of the first women to openly talk about being autistic in a public format.


She has joined NeuroUniverse to give clients practical examples of adjustments that they can make that could make all the difference to autistic employees. "I really believe that everything that helps autistic people in work - clear instructions, a less harsh sensory environment - helps non autistic workers too" she says. "No one has ever wished for louder hand dryers in the toilets."


Pete Wharmby

After being diagnosed as autistic at the age of 34 in 2017, Pete, a former secondary English teacher, immersed himself in working to improve autistic awareness, acceptance and making the world a more suitable place for the neurodivergent community.


He has spoken at a wide range of events and conferences since 2020 in the UK and in Europe and North America, both in person and remotely, sharing his insight and experience of being autistic

and ADHD with businesses, governments, educational establishments and more.
